Sometimes my fanart or illustrations ideas came from requests from my husband. Like this one, this time the character is Mavuika from Genshin Impact. My husband fall in love with the character and immediately asked me for a fanart. However, I struggled a lot with the fabric texture, I must admit that I still have a hard time handling certain kind of fabrics, especially latex. But well, the main change I did here was the internet joke that the character looks too much as Sunset Shimmer from Equestria Girls, so I draw Maviuka with the same colors as Sunset Shimmer. I like the result, the only thing was the fabric… but I try it. Anyway, I hope you like it.

Although the sector that has hurt me the most and has been the famous “art” created by this abominable tool. I may be old fashioned but I will never accept that type of content. Since trying to replace something as valuable and unique as art seems to me, as I have said before, a complete abomination. We can automate stuff, we can use it to do repetitive work and dangerous for humans, but using to trying supplant human soul I think there is no forgiveness to that.

One of the last commissions I’ve been working on lately. A contest for students of a school in which the winner is made a t-shirt with their drawing. In this project they send me the child’s illustration and I’m in charge of vectorizing the drawings and adapting them to t-shirt designs with a limit of 4 colors, of course following the client’s guidelines and the colors that are chosen for each one. I really enjoy trying to get the children idea and create it a cute and colorful illustration.

2018: This month I wanted to do something more Mexican related. As a Mexican, I must admit that I rarely do things related to my culture, that’s why I decided this year to make an adaptation of Catrina for this Día de Muertos. This Catrina is based on the original Catrina from José Guadalupe Posada.

2022: I haven’t uploaded illustrations for a long time; with so much work I haven’t had time to dedicate myself to illustrating, or rather, I’ve been dedicating myself to many things. My husband has been a fan of this manga since it first came out in Spain. Berserk has been a worldwide phenomenon in the genre of shonen setting in a Medieval Europe with a dark fantasy world. Manga was written by Kentaro Miura, who unfortunately passed away a few days ago and that made my husband very sad, since he has followed his work since the begining. So I offered him to do a fanart to honor one of his favorite authors, and he asked me to recreate this mythical scene in the manga, which is the first kiss between Casca and Guts, one of his favorite couples in the anime world.

Request from my husband . I always try to learn every time I try a new illustration, so with this illustration I decided to try a new way of drawing. Using the traditional drawing base, I decided to make the fit of the figure with vector geometric shapes, and from there I went on detailing each part of the body. I must admit that I liked the result and that it’s a technique that I will continue to use in the future. I must admit that working with Affinity Designer has been a great discovery for me, and now I enjoy vector illustration more thanks to this software. In addition, the texture of latex is somewhat complicated, however thanks to it’s tools and the appropriate references, I found the texture I was looking for for clothing.

2D Animation Commercial Commission for Nicked It company. In this commission, I was asked to make a 2D animation based on a classic anime style. This project was made from scratch, counting only with VoiceOver, creating a storyboard, followed by animatic until the final animation. I also had to design the main character, the backgrounds and the mascot design for this brand, which appears at the end of the video. A project that taught me a lot and at the same time I enjoyed creating.

I have to admit that Bojack Horseman was a series that I loved from the beginning. Its acid humor and its complex story based on anthropomorphic animals seemed very original to me. So when my husband and I finally finished the last season, I decided to make a fanart of this series. Therefore I thought about which of these characters I had liked the most and I opted for Princess Carolyn, since I really liked its design and personality from the beginning of the series and it has been the one that has evolved the most throughout the series.

Very happy with this client, her requests have always been clear and therefore it has not been difficult for me to understand what she was looking for. Also, I have always enjoyed the Chibi style in common and making these cute and colorful illustrations was very satisfying.

Leaving a bit of the chibi design, this was one of the designs that I most enjoyed creating for her, besides that I love the detail in digital painting, creating an illustration in different angles was a great challenge that was satisfying to achieve.

An interesting story behind this commission. After going to Tec High School here in Colima to offer my services as a teacher, and since it was not feasible due some bureaucratic issues, the director of the school really liked my portfolio, so he soon asked me for an illustration for the School. They asked me for a full map of the campus but very colorful and easy to understand. It was tricky because I had to build on their infrastructure and give it some perspective. But at the end, I like the final result.
